Summer time means many different things to us: no school, suntanning, the beach, swimming, baseball, vacation, fresh produce, barbecues, sundresses, weddings, and so much more.

To me, it's a time of constant sun-protection (hello: fair skin!), self-cooling mechanisms, salads, picnics, and good books. I've compiled a list of some of my favorite items this summer that have kept me cool, refreshed, healthy and entertained.

First up is Caudalie Divine Legs. Do you feel like we go from jeans to shorts in no time at all? I always feel totally unprepared for the summer months and hate it when my legs look pasty and dry after the winter. This lotion obliterates any frost-bitten skin by acting as a skin-firmer and also mildly tinting your legs. I use it every night before bed and it feels and smells great! Seriously, the smell is amazing.

La Fresh Instant Body Soother is perfect for on-the-go wipes. I like to use these after work before dinner with friends to freshen up and smell great. They're also awesome after the gym, after a long plane ride, or just at home if you need a boost. They stay in my bag all summer long.

Fresh Citron de Vigne is a new find for me and already the compliments I've received are endless! This scent is so light and fruity, I feel as if I'm walking around the vineyards of Provence. It doesn't have any of those chemically smells you find in many perfumes, and it lasts all day long! Plus it's another great item to keep in your bag and use as you please!

Oxo SoftWorks Salad Spinner  is an essential kitchen tool. I honestly could never go without one of these again. They're so simple to wash any greens you pick up from the market and it's easy to clean as well. Lettuce, herbs, micro greens... they can all go in here! It's so important to thoroughly wash all of your produce, and this bad boy makes it easy and fun!

Eagles Nest Outfitters Hammock is a great item to keep in your car for any summer vacation. I can't think of anything more relaxing than laying in a hammock reading a good book after a day at the beach, can you? This is an essential item for me and has been used for numerous camping and beach vacations. I can't recommend it enough!

And then finally, I am never without a Microplane. Seriously, if you don't have one of these, get it now! I like it for the summer time because lemon or orange zest on top of a salad or cake just screams summer. It's also great for cheese on a salad, chocolate on a cake, or maybe some grated ginger for a cocktail. They're inexpensive, easy to use and easy to clean.
